Leaves
Like
leaves many friendships slowly wither and die,
Falling
like tears from trees way up high.
No
you can’t count the leaves that fall to the ground,
Nor
the blessing of a true friend, if one is found.
You
can’t count the price, the value the cost,
Most
see not its worth until it is lost.
Most
take for granted all the good times they share,
Neglecting
to say how much they do care.
But
when something happens and the friendship is lost,
It’s
then that the tears flow as they realize the cost.
And
like leaves from a tree, one can’t count the tears,
As
memories rush in from over the years.
You
remember the good times, the funny times too,
You
remember the tough times, but you’ve always pulled through.
But
now it seems like you’ve come to the end,
You
no longer feel close to that once special friend.
But
if you look back, you may start to see,
Some
things became neglected and were just left to be.
You
neglected to show appreciation and care,
You
took it for granted, that they’d always be there.
You
left out the, “Thanks, your such a great friend.
I
appreciate your calls, and the time that we spend.”
You
neglected to mention the good found in them,
But
instead you made comments that could only condemn.
You
showed them their faults; you thought they must know,
Never
thinking about the hurt that this may bestow.
And
slowly but surely you’ve grown apart,
Both
being left with scars on your heart.
And
like leaves from a tree that wither and die,
You
can’t bring them to life, matters not how you try.
You’d
say, “Sorry”, but you know they’ve heard it before,
And
this time it’s going to take something more.
Something
more than you have than you’re able to give,
As
you can’t erase their hurt and make them forgive.
What
you need is wisdom from God above,
He
sees the situation and looks on in love.
If
only you’d pray to Him and pour out your heart,
He
could restore what’s been severed apart.
You
think it would take a miracle and that’s too much to ask,
But
no problem’s too big; just let Him handle the task.
He
can fix broken friendships and relationships repair,
Just
hand them over to Him and let him take care.
Let
Him be your guide and He’ll see you through…
God
care so much for hurting people like you.
