I said a little prayer for you,
To ask God to take care,
Of a friend so dear to me,
To help your burdens bear.
I asked him to take care of you,
And watch you on your way.
To lead and help and guide you,
Through every single day.
Yes, I said a little prayer for you,
I hope you do not mind.
I asked him to bless you,
With good health and peace of mind.
